High outbound network instability
Jitter was highly variable suggesting network instability.
Description
Network Jitter instability causes the media playout to be erratic, robotic or to freeze video frames.
The higher the instability, the more likely the session is to experience bursty packet delivery, leading to reduced quality due to late or dropped packets—even if overall bandwidth appears sufficient.
What do we do here?
We compute the coefficient of variation from the Jitter standard deviation and mean and mark an observation when it is more than 1.15 "Chaos Threshold".
